AIPA stands for ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly. It serves as the center of communication and information among Member Parliaments which consist of the Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam.
Organizations rebrand at different periods in their history.
As the implementation of ASEAN integration is now in full swing, the reality of having a fully functioning regional organization of ASEAN is now taking shape.
A Key Role to Facilitate
Being the collective body representing the peoples of ASEAN, AIPA plays a key role to facilitate the implementation of this regional integration through the timely passage of relevant parliamentary measures to align the member states’ policies and harmonize their laws.
Rebrand to Respond the Challenges
With these winds of change which AIPA finds itself in, it has to rebrand itself to respond to these challenging times. The rationale of AIPA for rebranding is anchored on its efforts to be perceived by its audience as a Strong and Tough, Modern, Relevant and Responsive organization.
The Triangle of Change
The Triangle represents Parliament as the summit of a nation and one of the bulwark of democracy. The symbol forms an upward arrow that reflects growth, improvements, direction, purposes, and destination, which also forms an alphabet “A” to represent “AIPA”.
The Colors of ASEAN
The blue color represents peace and stability, while the dark blue represents maturity and strength. The red represents courage, valor and determination. It is also one of the main colors of the flags of all the ASEAN Member States. The gold represents friendliness and prosperity.
Strong Standing Mountain
The Logogram creates a visual imagery of a strong standing mountain that represents stability, prosperity, and strength. The five interlocking ribbons represent some of the values that AIPA Member Parliaments would like to live by, namely, the pursuit of peace, stability, unity, prosperity and good governance.
Sense of Belonging
The interconnecting ribbons represent Unity and Solidarity, while at the same time reflect the Sense of Belongingness and Ownership among the people of AIPA.
